WOYWW 195

Hello peeps,
As it is Wednesday I thought I would take part in WOYWW which, if you didn't know stands for 'whats on your work desk Wednesday', sooo you take a pic of your work desk and share it with lots of other 'nosey', I mean like minded people. Hop on over to Julia's blog  Stamping Ground  for more info.

I think my desk could be in competition with Julia's for the most boring title this week but at least it proves I am doing 'something' on it lol. I have had to get the old sewing machine out  today to selvage the bottoms of my daughters trousers before hand sewing the hems. Also on my desk are a pair of door curtains  that also need shortening, ready to take to the caravan at the weekend. The cup (my favourite) with the polystyrene ball in, is waiting to be transformed into a pin cushion after the handle mysteriously got broken by my daughter or hubby,  neither would fess up though. lol
You can also see my A5 stamp sets that I am sorting into wallets ready for storing in a lever arch file (anybody got any other ideas how to store them ?)  The Steam punk canvas I made my hubby for valentines, I will be giving it back soon, honest. You can see it better in my previous post if you're interested.
Hope you have a fabby WOYWW.

STEAMPUNK BUTTERFLY

Hi peeps,
I know, its been ages since I last posted anything, I haven't really got a good reason other than a lack of self confidence in my crafting abilities and wondering who would be interested in my blog posts anyway. However I have been watching a lot of wonderful crafters on You Tube and blog hopping, as I  love all things arty. Also I recently discovered Craft Stamper magazine, I found a tutorial by Glenda Waterworth from Chocolate Baroque featuring the Steampunk Butterfly stamp set, which co-incidentally my husband had bought me in January :-) So I felt inspired enough by Glenda to have a go (as they say)

Steampunk Butterfly Canvas

Unfortunately the Tim Holtz tissue wrap taster pack-Melange was sold out, so I had to make my own by stamping  the cogs stamp onto tissue paper. I also Googled 'Steampunk definition' and printed it out onto tissue paper, I was impressed how easy this was, though  I did get in a bit of a pickle trying to get the text straight when I glued it down, as you can see, once its on it is very difficult to move without tearing. The portion of Rose window and the Butterfly were also stamped onto tissue, Glenda says to colour the butterfly on the reverse side of the tissue, which I did, but I recommend NOT to keep turning it over to check how it looks as I managed to colour on both sides ****!!! any way it didn't smudge when I put the glue n seal on Phew.

Really enjoyed choosing and attaching all the keys and cogs, the yale key was my husbands door key from when he was a boy living with his parents I stuck the number 2 on as that was the house number  and the large key is a disabled toilet key I had from when his mum was alive, bit obscure but I liked it. The tiny cogs are watch parts and the little red heart is a brad as are on the butterfly. I like the Q I made, also from watch parts, the rest of the letters are die cut.
I made this as a gift for my hubby for Valentines, my daughter was very sceptical about sticking a load of old keys and cogs onto a canvas for a gift but she likes the finished result so much........she wants one too, only in purple lol
Thanks for stopping by

WOYWW 156

Hi Peeps,
Well here we are another week gone and its Wednesday again,
so that means WOYWW.
I've been playing around with ideas for the ATC swaps.
So if any of the lovely people who have visited me, and left  their
lovely comments, would like to swap
(or would just like one any way) please email  me with your contact
details.
On my desk this week are some flowers using Tim Holtz Tattered
Florals die and my daughters cream felt jacket,
(apparently she didn't like it any more) and it was like new.Soooo
instead of sending it to the charity shop I cut it up to make flowers,
I did feel a tad guilty, but never mind needs must lol.
I coloured the edges and added stickles to some, and I love them.
I also inked up the Coffee Break stamp from LOTV, and  started
to colour it ready to make a card.

Thanks for looking, look forward to hearing from any ATC swapees.

WOYWW 155

Hi Peeps,
Well I have been busy tweaking my craft room yesterday and today,
I am trying to create more space, for more stuff and it is proving
difficult to say the least. You know how it is when you really should
get rid of some stuff, to make way for new stuff, but you just can't
bring yourself to part with anything.
So there is no pic of my work desk today, but thought I would share
what I made on it recently.
This is a birthday book I made for Emma a lovely friends 21st Birthday.
She is  a Tattooist, who does her own art work and is making a name
for herself in the tattooing industry.
All the papers are odds and ends from my stash and all the sentiments
were done on the computer.
I really like how it turned out.

It doesn't show up too well in the pic, but this paper is beautifully embossed and glittered.

Bought these lovely flock and rhinestone letters at the NEC.

I love this paper.

Papermania buttons on this page.

On this page I used a butterfly fabric and cut out a few of the butterflies stuck them to card
    and decoupaged them.

I used  the Spellbinders labels 11 die for all the sentiments.
I was having a last look at  my efforts before leaving to give Emma her gift when I noticed I had missed an 'S' off the word  'hopes', ******, I thought.!!!  My husband said it made it unique....... Bless!

This is beautiful flocked wrapping paper.

.  I used the Cuttlebug  Happy Birthday embossing  folder on the front and back covers.

I used  the Spellbinders labels 11 die for all the sentiments.

Hope you all had a great day WOYWW ing.
Thanks for peeking

WOYWW 153

Hello peeps, not much going on on my desk this week, I have
been feeling yucky all week so tidied up my desk ready for action.
I have been You Tubeing, and watching all sorts of tutorials,
one on crochet flowers,so on my desk there are a few crochet flowers
I made, and also a wooly 'thing' lol. I am just following a tutorial for a
more elaborate crochet flower, but I need to buy some decent
thread really. On Saturday I popped in to Lilli of the Valley's open
weekend,I would have liked to have taken one of Bev Rochesters
workshops but I thought I would be in Scotland on those dates so
I didn't book a place. Silly me !
Any way as you can see I bought two stamps from the new release,
'Yee Haa' and the Vintage labels sentiments.
I also bought a couple of raffle tickets, and 'guess what'................
I didn't win lol.
Happy WOYWW
