WOYWW 205

It's Wednesday and that means WOYWW which, I'm sure you are dying  to know, stands for .......
'What's On Your Work desk Wednesday'. If you too would like to join in the fun then, take a pic of your work desk and share it with lots of other 'nosey', I mean like minded people. Hop on over to Julia's blog
Stamping-Ground for more info. Hope to see you there.

Hello peeps,
At last I've managed to finish the mini quote album, though you might remember if you visited me last time that I've used different paper, and it's for my daughter instead of friend. I decided after hitting lots of snags (ok making lots of boo boo's) that maybe I should make a practice one first. The main problem I had apart from the daft mistakes I made, was the paper splitting on the outside edges of the spine, I had to add the lace to cover the splits. Hopefully I can now make my friends mini without the mistakes, and if any one has any tips on how to prevent the paper splitting I would be grateful.

Yay ! you made it to the end lol. Hope you have a great day desk hopping.
Happy Art Making
Hugs
Lottie

  2. What a gorgeous book, lace and all. Love the pearls on the tags to enable you to pull them out better. As for splitting paper, did you crease it first and when you put it on made sure the fold was in the folded position? Just some thoughts not an expert. Thanks for visiting me already BJ#15

  4. Hi again
i forgot to comment about the spoon... it is an essential piece of equiptment, I use it to scoop up the very tiny beads when I put them back into their little pots... it is an old mustard spoon

  5. Such a pretty album - well done. As for the splitting paper I have found that thinner, cheaper paper doesn't split. Happy Wednesday. :o)

  7. Really beautiful album, wow I love everything about it. As for the tearing, you need to make sure you score the folds very well on the taught line of the bind, you can also add a layer of Royal Decoupage Finish by Plaid it is a sealer that comes in a matt finish, it makes the binding hold but also gives it a firm grip. You might want to check it out and give it a test drive first.

  9. The mini album is beautiful.
Thanks for stopping by. I hope you like the links you followed x
Are you using chip board for the covers? If so the only suggestion I have is to leave a little more space between each piece so the paper is not stretched to tight if that makes sence? Happy woyww. Mark c

  12. OH wow! Lovely, Lottie! Such a special gift. On the paper splitting issue... are you using one solid sheet to do the entire cover and across the spine? or do you do a front/ back then a spine piece that overlaps the front/ back? Think I said that clear, but if not, drop me an email KellyH(at)artlover(dot)com. If you're trying to do from back to spine to front in one move, you don't allow for give on the spine. That and afore-mentioned scoring are my only 2 thoughts. Hugs! Kelly #103

  14. Hi Lottie,

What a wonderful album! I'm sure your daughter will love it. I see you've gotten a few responsed to the spine issue. When I took the Graphic 45 class I noticed the papers were of a heavier variety and didn't score as cleanly as I would have liked.

Thank you for visiting me already. I thought it wouldn't be until Saturday that I'd be able to get around and here it is Sunday already. At least I'm slowly making it!!

    Happy WOYWW
